Experience:

William J. Janesz is Value Recovery Group, Inc.’s (“VRG”) Senior Vice President of Collections, with responsibility for oversight of all collection functions of the company, including the collection of accounts on behalf of clients as well as those owned by VRG.  Mr. Janesz is also responsible for cash management of the business units which fall under his purview, including VRG’s contracts with the Ohio Attorney General, the United States Department of Education (via VRG’s partnership with CBE Group), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and other government and private contracts.  Mr. Janesz’s nearly 40 years of experience in the credit and recovery industry, as well as his specializations in complex assets and due diligence, make him ideally suited for the management of these large scale projects.

Prior to joining VRG in January 2009, Mr. Janesz was the Director of Investment Unit and Portfolio Acquisitions for 18 years for Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA in Cleveland, Ohio.  In that role, Mr. Janesz developed and grew the firm’s asset acquisition department to cope with the speed at which debt acquisition was emerging. He identified and performed all analytics and due diligence on portfolios; communicated with, and prepared all statistical reports for, senior management; and assisted in securing funding for numerous portfolios.  Mr. Janesz also oversaw the performance of the firm’s Investment Unit.  He purchased over one billion dollars in performing, non-performing and distressed loans, including all asset classes and product types, including consumer and commercial; oversaw the resale of portfolio loan pools; recruited and trained all new Investment Unit staff and developed infrastructure and operational efficiencies as well as managed collection performance and liquidation on acquired portfolios.

Mr. Janesz’s early career was as an Assistant Vice President with Society National Bank for 19 years, where he developed and grew the Bank's Recovery Department in order to deal with a significant increase in credit card and mobile home loses. He prepared performance reports for senior management review and reported problem Mortgage loans to the Bank's Loan Review Committee.  Specific duties included the negotiation of contingency collection rates with outside collection agencies; recruitment and training of 58 new recovery staff; development of collection standards and workflow; oversight of staff  performance and monitoring of liquidation rates; management of the Bank's foreclosure department and sales of the Bank's Other Real Estate Owned Properties; management of the remarketing of the Bank's repossessed collateral and implementation of the first on-line recovery system for banking (Recovery One) in the state of Ohio.

Mr. Janesz has been actively engaged in the debt acquisition and sales market place for over nineteen years, starting with loan sales by the FDIC and the birth of the RTC to the infusion of private equity funds and publicly traded companies who have been bidding on the mega sales from institutional sellers. Having been on the forefront of the industry since its inception, Mr. Janesz is well versed and qualified to assist a company in the acquisition and disposition of assets as well as to maximize operational efficiencies of existing portfolios, whether those portfolios are owned or managed on behalf of a client.
